Motorcycle Crash Kills 1 In Blue Earth County

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – One person was killed after an accident involving a motorcycle in southern Minnesota on Monday, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Authorities responded to a crash at about 3:46 p.m. Monday on Highway 22 and Victory Drive in Blue Earth County. When authorities arrived, a 35-year-old from Vernon Center later identified as Jeni L. Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities said the victim was riding a 1997 Harley Davidson that was heading southbound on Highway 22 and approaching Victory Drive. A 2009 Ford Focus was heading eastbound on Victory Drive and turning northbound on Highway 22 when the motorcycle braked to avoid a collision. The motorcycle lost control and the victim was ejected.

There were two people inside the Ford Focus at the time of the crash. Authorities said they were not injured.

The crash is still under investigation.
