MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Multiple lanes of Interstate 94 and ramps of Interstate 35E will close in the downtown St. Paul commons area Wednesday night for light-rail-related construction, the Department of Transportation says.
MnDOT said the right lanes of westbound and eastbound I-94 will close in St. Paul at 7 p.m. Also at that time, the ramps from northbound and southbound I-35E that lead onto I-94 will close.
Motorists should expect delays and are advised to use alternative routes. The lanes and ramps should reopen by 6 a.m. Thursday.
The closures are needed as crews work on the Cedar Street Bridge as part of the Central Corridor Light Rail Transit project, MnDOT said. For more information on the project, visit MnDOT’s website.
