1 Of Fatal Shooting Victims Was UPS Driver

MINNEAPOLIS (AP/WCCO) -- The employer of one of the four people killed in a workplace shooting in Minneapolis confirms he was a United Parcel Service employee.

The president of UPS's Northern Plains District, Jill Schubert, issued a statement Friday confirming the death of Keith Basinski, a UPS employee for 29 years. He was among the four fatally shot by a gunman Thursday at Accent Signage Systems. The assailant then killed himself.

Schubert says deepest sympathies go out to Basinski's family and the families of the other victims. UPS spokesman Mark Dickens says given the time of day, Basinski was probably picking up the customer's outbound shipments, but could have been making a delivery as well.

A memorial fund has been set up for Basinski. Donations can be mailed to or dropped off at:

First Advantage Bank
9950 Foley Boulevard, NE
Coon Rapids, Minn.

All check or money orders should be made payable to the Keith Basinski Memorial Fund.
