MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities have identified the 4-year-old boy who died Monday after being hit by a car in Minneapolis over the weekend.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office said Jose Parra Hernandez, of Minneapolis, died just before 10 p.m. Monday at the Hennepin County Medical Center. He died of multiple blunt force injuries.
Hernandez suffered those injuries near the intersection of 26th Street East and 11th Avenue South when he was hit by a car crossing the street. When emergency crews responded, they found a woman performing CPR on the boy.
Minneapolis Police learned Hernandez ran out into the middle of the street before being hit. The woman who was driving the car stayed at the scene and cooperated with police.
Police are investigating the incident.
