Minneapolis Police responded to the accident at about 7 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of 26th Street East and 11th Avenue South. When authorities got to the scene, they found a woman performing CPR on the boy.

Officers learned a female was driving in the area when the boy ran out into the middle of the street. She was unable to avoid the boy and hit him. Police say the woman stayed at the scene and cooperated fully with the investigation.
