MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Crews have responded to the scene of a water emergency on Lake Snelling in Fort Snelling State Park involving two people Friday morning.

At approximately 8:40 a.m., the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a water emergency involving a capsized canoe. Two men who were fishing went into the water.

According to Sergeant Mark Ledbetter with the Airport Police, one man who was wearing a life jacket swam to shore. The other man remained in the water for at least 10 minutes. Firefighters in a fan-propelled airboat rescued him from the water.
