MAHTOMEDI, Minn. (WCCO) – A 47-year-old woman from Willernie, Minn., is dead after getting hit by a vehicle Friday night, police say.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office said the incident happened on Hilton Trail near Hallam Avenue in Mahtomedi.

A 20-year-old man from Pine Springs was driving northbound on Hilton Trail when the woman was hit, cops say.

The victim was in the lane of traffic at the time and was wearing dark clothing. She was transported to Regions and later pronounced dead. The driver stopped and was cooperating with authorities.

The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating and the identities of either individuals have yet to be released.
