Best Of Minnesota: Oktoberfest

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- WCCO viewers picked Gasthof's in northeast Minneapolis as the best place to celebrate Oktoberfest.

If you want the Oktoberfest experience, but can't make it to Germany, this is about as good as it gets.

From the tables, to the benches, to the glassware, to the beer – it's all as authentic as possible.

Plus, this place has an infectious spirit as tables join together and two groups join to make one.

There are also a few traditions that might seem a little strange to the uninitiated. At Gasthof's, it's snuff, and it's described as an herbal tobacco mixture. And it's snorted.

If that looks too scary for you, Gasthof's also features some of the traditional songs and drinking games you'd expect to find at Oktoberfest.

Like Das Boot.

This is the third weekend of Oktoberfest at Gasthof's.

There's no cover charge and $5 will get you a drink, or something to eat.
