MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — The man shot and killed by police, after an incident in Richfield, has been identified.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner identified the man as 25-year-old Jeffrey O’Connor.

Police were dispatched to the home on a call of a disturbance and possible hostage situation. They say O’Connor had a knife at the house on the 6600 block of Park Avenue South. When police arrived, O’Connor allegedly met them, wielding the knife.

Police shot and killed O’Connor inside the residence.

The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the incident.
