MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — The man shot and killed by police, after an incident in Richfield, has been identified.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner identified the man as 25-year-old Jeffrey O’Connor.

Police were dispatched to the home on a call of a disturbance and possible hostage situation. They say O’Connor had a knife at the house on the 6600 block of Park Avenue South. When police arrived, O’Connor allegedly met them, wielding the knife.

Police shot and killed O’Connor inside the residence.
