PINE RIVER, Minn. (WCCO) – A 60-year-old motorist was killed after apparently failing to negotiate a curve in the road and running off the road Sunday evening.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the crash happened along Highway 84 near the intersection with 12th Street Southwest north of Pine River.
Wallace Joenks, of Pine River, was driving south in a 1974 Plymouth when he went off the road and struck a tree.
Authorities said the vehicle caught on fire.
Joenks was found by police inside the flaming vehicle.
