MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Minnesota’s Voter ID Amendment got a public airing on Tuesday night in Maplewood.

The crowd packed the Maplewood City Council chambers for a tense, but civil showdown featuring a former Minnesota governor.

Former Republican Gov. Arne Carlson made a surprise appearance, urging defeat of the Voter ID Amendment, describing it as a power grab by Republicans.
