FARGO, N.D. (AP) — Nikola Pekovic and Chase Budinger scored 14 points apiece to help the Minnesota Timberwolves to an 84-70 victory over the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday night in the preseason opener for both teams.
Brandon Roy added 13 points and Kevin Love had 12 for the Timberwolves, who led after every quarter.
Paul George was the only Indiana player in double figures with 16 points. The Pacers were saddled with 35 percent shooting from the field.
Love had eight rebounds to lead Minnesota’s 42-39 advantage on the boards.
Minnesota’s biggest lead was 20 points, with less a minute left in the third quarter.
The game was played before 9,163 fans at the Fargodome.
