Vikings WR Simpson Should Be OK For Sunday

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) — Minnesota wide receiver Jerome Simpson doesn't need surgery for the back problem that caused weakness and numbness in his lower left leg, and the Vikings expect him to play Sunday at Washington.

Coach Leslie Frazier said Wednesday that Simpson will be held out of practice as a precaution but could be cleared for action by Thursday or Friday. Frazier said "all indications are" that Simpson will be fine to face the Redskins and has improved since waking up the morning of last Sunday's game against Tennessee with the strange, sudden injury.

Frazier also said running back Adrian Peterson was on the do-not-practice list for Wednesday to rest his sprained left ankle, but Peterson is expected to be OK for Sunday.
