MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Police are thanking community members for helping apprehend the 48-year-old man who’s being held in connection with the recent thefts of at least two Children’s Miracle Network fundraising jars.
In September, St. Paul police officers responded to two incidents in which donation jars had been taken from a convenience store counter top.
Tips from community members who saw images of the suspect helped identify James Keith Lesure, 48, as the man believed to be taking the jars.
On Thursday, officers located Lesure in a Mounds View home and arrested him on suspicion of stealing the donation jars. He also is being held in connection with other unrelated crimes, including the violation of a no contact order.
