MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – At Minneapolis Patrick Henry, a quarterback-wide receiver combination has been formed through friendship.
They practice together, they play together, and they hang out together.
“We just try to go out there and do what we need to do to win,” senior quarterback Markell Odom said. “We’ve been friends for a while now, through basketball and football. We have a connection. We know what each other are thinking sometimes.”
That’s what it’s about — being teammates and friends.
“We’re with each other every day. Day in, day out.” said senior wide receiver, Darius Hill.
That’s why it’s working, and posting some of the most impressive receiving numbers in the state.
*I got a height advantage, and I got a jumping ability,” said Hill, who clocks in at 6 foot, 4 inches tall.
And with a quarterback that can run it a little, too, maybe the Patriots can make a run into November.
“It’s been great,” Odom said. “We’ve been having fun and our team is like a family. We just try to do our best so that we can win.”
