MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — He was a philanthropist and long-time state senator — Sunday morning people are remembering George Pillsbury.

He served in the Minnesota Senate from 1970 to 1982.

After serving as a marine in World War II, he became vice president of the Pillsbury Company.

Pillsbury suffered a stroke a few days ago, and passed away yesterday at his home in Wayzata.

He was 91 years old.
