ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Minnesota voters who don’t want to bring ID or other documentation on Election Day face a Tuesday deadline to pre-register to vote.

Voters can also register at the polls on Election Day, as long as they bring some verification of their identity, such as a driver’s license, student or tribal ID or a registered voter to confirm their address.

State law requires voters to register before they vote. Currently registered voters don’t have to register again unless they move, change their name or haven’t voted within four years. Voter registration applications are available at local election offices and online at the Secretary of State’s website.

Voting procedures are getting extra attention this year as voters decide on a constitutional amendment that would require photo identification at the polls.
