ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) – Authorities are investigating a shooting Monday night in St. Paul that sent one man to the hospital just an hour after a vigil took place for a murder victim in that area, according to police.

Police said the shooting happened at about 8:45 p.m. Monday near the intersection of Cypress Street and Bush Avenue in St. Paul. It’s about a block away from the area where a 20-year-old woman was shot and killed over the weekend.

Authorities say one man was shot and taken to Regions Hospital. He was conscious and breathing. Police haven’t said if this shooting is connected to the weekend murder, but said they aren’t ruling it out. The incident is under investigation, and police are looking for suspects.
