ST. JOSEPH TOWNSHIP (WCCO) — A 68-year-old Gonvick, Minn. man died after his semi-truck left the road Wednesday, according to the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office.

At approximately 7 a.m., a witness called authorities and reported that a semi-truck they were following on southbound County Road 2 left the roadway. The witness said the semi then traveled into a plowed field on the west side of the road just north of 260th Street in St. Joseph Township.

The witness and a Cold Spring police officer were able to help the semi driver out of the truck and start CPR.

The driver was taken to the St. Cloud Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. His cause of death hasn’t been released.

The victim’s name is being withheld pending family notification.
