SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) — Notre Dame jumped out to a three-goal lead and went on to beat Minnesota Duluth 4-1 in men’s college hockey on Friday night.

Notre Dame’s T.J. Tynan and Robbie Russo scored first-period goals, part of a 21-shot assault on Minnesota Duluth goalie Aaron Crandall. The Bulldogs’ goalie finished with 36.

Jeff Costello’s goal at 3:03 of the second made it 3-0.

Minnesota Duluth’s Tony Cameranesi cut into the lead midway through the second period, but David Gerths re-established the lead at 4:39 of the third.

Notre Dame goalie Steven Summerhays made 33 saves.

The Fighting Irish (3-1-0) dropped Thursday’s game 3-1 to the Bulldogs (2-2-0).
