BERTHA, Minn. (WCCO) — A Bertha woman is recovering at Hennepin County Medical Center after her significant other tried to shoot and kill her last Friday. The shooter took his own life before Todd County Sheriff’s deputies responded.
The couple has been identified as Eric Grewe, 39, and Angela Templin, 31, both from Bertha.
“The weapon that was used was a shotgun,” said Sheriff Peter Mikkelson, Todd County.
Sheriff Mikkelson says the attempted murder-suicide happened around 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
Templin survived the gunshot and was taken by ambulance to Tri-County Hospital before she was airlifted to HCMC. A hospital spokeswoman says Templin’s condition is serious.
Mikkelson says the incident appears to have been a domestic situation that escalated. It’s being investigated by the Todd County Sheriff Office and The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
