High School – Spring Lake Park
The junior is a two way star as the leading rusher and tackler for Spring Lake Park . . . Ejodamen straps on the helmet at both running back and linebacker and had a stellar game Wednesday as Spring Lake Park capped a perfect regular season with a 29-20 victory over St. Francis. On offense, Ejiya carried the ball 19 times for 315 yards (a 16.6-yard average) and three touchdowns. On defense he finished with 17 total tackles, with 11 of them solo tackles. With the win, Spring Lake Park – which is ranked No. 2 in Class 5A — captured the outright North Suburban Conference title.
Through the eight-game regular season, Ejodamen has rushed 138 times for a school-record 1,406 yards and 17 touchdowns. On defense, he leads the team with 80 tackles (60 solo).
Congratulations to Ejodamen Ejiya from Spring Lake Park High School as our Old Dutch High School Athlete of the Week.
