FARIBAULT, Minn. (WCCO) – A 21-year-old firefighter has died after his pickup truck rolled into the Cannon River on Saturday morning, according to authorities.
Rice County Sheriff Troy Dunn says that deputies were dispatched to the scene in Walcott Township around 7:13 a.m., where they found a partially submerged Ford Ranger truck.
The driver, Andrew P. Bice of rural Faribault, was found dead inside.
Bice was a Wildland firefighter and smokechaser for the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.
The Rice County Sheriff’s office and the Minnesota State Patrol are investigating the accident.
