BUFFALO LAKE, Minn. (WCCO) – Authorities have identified a man who died over the weekend after falling 60 feet in a grain elevator in Buffalo Lake, according to the Renville County Sheriff’s Office.
The victim was identified Monday as 28-year-old Andrew R. Burnett of New Ulm. Authorities said Burnett was not an employee where the accident happened, but was a contractor working on an expansion project at the elevator.
Authorities were called at about 10:48 a.m. Saturday to the scene after a report that a worker had fallen 60 feet in a grain bin. When they arrived, they tried to resuscitate Burnett, but he died of his injuries.
The accident is still under investigation by Buffalo Lake Police, the Renville County Sheriff’s Office and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
