November's Veteran Of The Month: Amanda Kotval

Amanda Kotval enlisted into the Wis. Army National Guard on Feb. 13, 2006. She was appointed as additional Cadre for the RSP in Chippewa Falls, Wis. upon her return from Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training until January 2008.

She was called up to deploy with the 1218th Trasportation Company from West Palm Beach, FL for Operation Iraqi Freedom from 2009 to 2010. After returning to Minnesota, she was allowed to transfer into the Minnesota Army National Guard where she was placed with the 257th Military Police Company out of Monticello as their Human Resource Specialist.

Kotval is an active member of the 257 Military Police Family Readiness Group along with helping Monticello become a recognized Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Community.

She currently resides in Monticello with her son Trea, 4.
