SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — A Minnesota man convicted of assaulting a South Dakota woman and locking her in a bedroom has been sentenced to three years in prison.
The U.S. attorney’s office says 41-year-old Robert Ford, of Pipestone, Minn., was found guilty in July of kidnapping by confinement.
The 37-year-old victim from Flandreau reported that the Ford assaulted her and confined her to a bedroom in her own house by barricading the door. Ford reportedly fled the scene after other residents in the home heard sounds of a struggle.
