Man Pleads Guilty To Exposing Self, Pornography To Kids

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) –- A Farmington man has pleaded guilty to exposing himself to children, attempting to lure them and showing them pornography on his cell phone.

The Dakota County Attorney reported Adam Eugene Berg pleaded guilty to one count of second-degree attempted criminal sexual conduct as well as three counts of fifth-degree criminal sexual conduct.

According to the original criminal complaint, Berg allegedly exposed himself to children or attempted to lure them on at least four different occasions for sexual purposes.

The incidents happened between Jan. 16 and Feb. 27 this year.

"Attempting to lure children for purposes of sexual gratification as was done in these instances is extremely alarming behavior," said Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom. "The emotional trauma these children suffered was significant, but we are grateful that Adam Berg was apprehended before any child suffered actual sexual abuse."

In one incident, Berg approached a 4-year-old child playing at a park in Farmington and asked the boy if he would like to touch him. When the boy's mother, who was nearby, saw him talking to her son, she approached him and he fled the scene.

In another incident, Berg showed a 10-year-old girl who was walking to a park a picture of a naked woman on his cell phone. About a half hour later, he showed two boys, ages 9 and 12, a picture of a naked woman's genitalia from his cell phone.

Berg was arrested after one of the boys' fathers gave police a description of the man.
