MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – It’s Thursday, and that means it’s time to start planning some fun. We are coming up on the first weekend of November and have some activities worth checking out. This week, there’s something for music lovers and something for dog lovers.
Madonna Concert
This weekend, the material girl is in town! The Madonna 2012 World Tour stops at Xcel Energy Center Saturday and Sunday at 8 p.m. Tickets are still available for both shows.
Accordion Festival
Maybe you’re less into pop and more into accordion? This weekend it’s the 15th Annual Northeast Accordion Festival. Festivities include concerts, workshops, jams, new friends, and even a dance. On Friday, head over to the Eagles Club for the fun. On Saturday, the celebration continues at Elsie’s in NE Minneapolis. If you haven’t gotten enough, Sunday marks the last day of the festival at Dulono’s in Uptown.
All About Dogs Day at the Arboretum
Finally, Saturday is All About Dogs Day at the Arboretum in Chanhassen. It’s a great event to honor man’s and woman’s best friend. Reserve a spot for you and your faithful canine companion for a walk on three-mile drive, complete with trick or treating, a pet expo and a Dog-O-Rama costume parade. The fee is $25 per dog for arboretum members and $30 for non-members. That includes 2 adults plus a doggie goodie bag.
