MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — It’s Thursday, and that means it’s time to start planning some fun.
This weekend’s events are all about food, so grab your fork, knife and appetite.
Midtown Global Market
This weekend, you can warm up on a “chili” day at Midtwon Global Market. Saturday from noon until 2 p.m. is the sixth annual global chili cook-off. Guests will receive a wristband and will try chili samples from various restaurants.
You can cast a vote for your favorite. A $5 donation is suggested, which goes toward charity.
Charlie Awards
Foodies and those in the restaurant scene will get together Sunday for this year’s Charlie Awards. It’s a celebration of Twin Cities food and drink.
Awards like Outstanding Restaurant, Cup of Coffee and Outstanding Bartender will be given out. The event starts at 2 p.m. at the Pantages Theatre. Tickets are $35
North Aire Market Sale
And just in time for holiday entertaining, the North Aire Market Gourmet Food Warehouse Sale is going on now through Sunday.
It’s a specialty food sale with goodies that will make great hostess gifts, stocking stuffers and easy meals on hunting trips. The event is in Shakopee near Valleyfair and Canterbury Park.
