MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Today we’re honoring our military members.
Gov. Mark Dayton and Sen. re-elect Amy Klobuchar will be among the speakers at a Veterans Day program, at the Veterans Memorial Community Center in Inver Grove Heights on Sunday.
And later this afternoon, 18 soldiers with the 147th Human Resources Company are coming home from Kuwait and Afghanistan.
The Minnesota Vikings are also honoring veterans.
They’re hosting the team’s annual “Salute to Service” military appreciation game against the Detroit Lions.
As part of the celebration, the team placed special cards on seats at the dome — to be used during the singing of the National Anthem.
The team will use a variety of elements before and during the game to honor our troops, including a performance from the Minnesota Red Bulls band.
