OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Dominic Zombo and Ryan Walters had three points apiece as Nebraska-Omaha beat Minnesota-Duluth 6-3 Sunday for a sweep of their Western Collegiate Hockey Association series.
Zombo had two goals and an assist and Walters had one goal and two assists for the Mavericks (6-3-1, 4-1-1).
UNO scored two goals in each period. It was a one-goal game before Walters’ goal at 6:38 of the third. Brent Gwidt added another goal at 11:41.
John Faulkner had 31 saves.
Mike Seidel, Austin Farley and Joe Basaraba had goals for UMD (2-5-1, 0-3-1). Farley also had an assist.
Matt McNeely made 22 saves.
The Mavericks won Saturday’s game 3-2.
