OLD DUTCH HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

High School – Lakeville North
The 5-foot-11 junior, who was named the national sophomore volleyball player of the year last season, had 39 kills in Saturday’s Class 3A state championship match, in which Lakeville North defeated defending state champion Eden Prairie 3-1. Goehner led the Panthers to a 32-1 record this season and the season-long No. 1 spot in the Class 3A coaches rankings. The Panthers also won the state championship in 2009 and were the state runner-up last season. Goehner, who has made a verbal commitment to play college volleyball at Marquette, is a strong student who is active in a rescue group that saves homeless cats and kittens.
