BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. (WCCO) – Authorities say one person was arrested Monday night and another suspect is still at large in connection with a home invasion in Brooklyn Park.
Police were called to the 6000 block of 83rd Parkway at about 9:07 p.m. Monday on a weapons complaint. When authorities arrived, they were two suspects approached the front door of the home and as it was opened by one of the victims, the two suspects forced their way inside.
Police said one of the suspects displayed a handgun as they searched through the residence. One of the victims was able to get out of the residence and call police.
Authorities said three adults and three children were inside the home at the time of the robbery. Two of the victims were assaulted during the incident and were treated at the scene.
Authorities were able to locate one of the two suspects, who was arrested for probable cause aggravated robbery. That suspect is an adult male and is in custody at the Brooklyn Park Police Department.
Police said they are still looking for a second suspect in the case and say it’s under investigation. Authorities said they don’t believe the crime was random.
