Maplewood Police Officer On Leave Over Alleged Misconduct

MAPLEWOOD, Minn. (WCCO) -- A Maplewood police officer has been placed on administrative leave.

On Oct. 20, Maplewood Police were notified by Stillwater Police that a report had been taken alleging criminal sexual conduct involving a member of the Maplewood Police Department. That officer was immediately placed on leave.

According to Maplewood's Acting Chief Dave Kvam, he was verbally notified that the Washington County Attorney's Office reviewed the matter and declined to issue charges. He was informed that the case was being referred to the Stillwater City Attorney's Office to be reviewed for a gross misdemeanor charge of providing alcohol to a minor.

The officer remains on leave while the matter is being reviewed.

Kvam says he has no more details.
