MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota men’s basketball team has signed two players to national letters of intent for next season.
Alvin Ellis and Alex Foster, teammates at Chicago’s De La Salle High School, both agreed to play for the Golden Gophers on Wednesday.
Ellis is a 6-foot-4 combo guard who averaged 17 points and 4.0 rebounds as a junior last season. He says he chose the Gophers over Kansas State, Nebraska, Northwestern, Tennessee and Wichita State.
Foster is 6-foot-8 forward who averaged 15 points and 10 rebounds last season. He is playing his senior season at Seton Academy in South Holland, Ill., and says he chose Minnesota over Auburn, Wisconsin, Illinois, Northwestern, Purdue and Tennessee.
