SLEEPY EYE, Minn. (WCCO) – The State Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that happened in Brown County early Thursday afternoon.
According to the patrol, the crash happened at 6 a.m. along Highway 14 near 250th Avenue, just east of Sleepy Eye.
A GMC truck and a Ford van were involved in the crash.
The driver of the GMC — 53-year-old Karen Branch of New Ulm, Minn. — was killed in the crash.
Fifty-two-year-old Roddy Verschelde of North Mankato, Minn., the driver of the Ford van, received non-life threatening injuries.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
