MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minnesota will enter Nebraska’s raucous stadium on Saturday with a third-string center making the line calls for a makeshift group in front of freshman quarterback Philip Nelson.

That’s nothing new for the Golden Gophers. Minnesota’s offensive line has been ravaged by injuries all season long, the most recent coming last weekend when starting center Jon Christenson and backup Zach Mottla both had to leave the game against Illinois.

Zac Epping moved from left guard to center, and he is likely going to get the start on Saturday against the Cornhuskers. Brothers Ed and Tommy Olson have missed the last four games as well, but hope to return this week.

Coach Jerry Kill says the group has done a good job of withstanding the injuries and still managing to play well.
