MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities are investigating after a man was found dead in a north Minneapolis alley late Sunday night.
Minneapolis Police responded to a call of a person down at about 10:10 p.m. Sunday on the 3900 block of Dupont Avenue North. When authorities arrived, they found an adult male who was unresponsive in a back alley. He died at the scene.
On Monday, authorities identified the victim as Gianni Gossitt, 22, of Minneapolis. He died as a result of a gunshot wound to the chest, according to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner.
Gossitt’s death has been deemed a homicide and police are investigating.
