MINNETONKA, Minn. (WCCO) – Two people are dead Saturday morning after a house fire at a Minnetonka home. The two-alarm fire started around 10:30 p.m. on Friday, on Westwood Road.
Fire officials later pulled two bodies from inside, later identified as Brian and Sandra Humphrey.
Lorraine Besonen was friends with the Humphrey’s for more than 40 years.
“Our kids grew up with their kids, and just had a wonderful relationship with them. Very, very nice people,” Besonen said.
She says she’s still in disbelief, having just seen the Humphreys hours before the fire.
“It was real tough on all of us. My kids, when I called them this morning. Just very, very sad,” she said.
Ted Hanwick was best friends with Brian Humphrey. He said Brian and Sandra should be remembered as a good, Christian couple who loved their neighborhood.
“It’ll be hard. We’ll definitely miss them,” Hanwick said.
They are such dear, dear people that I know that they are rejoicing in heaven right now, I’m sure,” Besonen said.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
