MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A 28-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder in last week’s homicide in Minneapolis.

Jermaine Edward Harris was arrested and charged for the death of Richard Jinkins last week.

Police say officers were dispatched to the area of 26th Avenue and 3rd Street North on a shots fired call. Upon arrival, they found an unconscious man. He was pronounced dead at the scene and later identified as Jinkins.

Police spoke with witnesses and were able to identify a suspect. A warrant was issued for the arrest of Harris on Monday. He was arrested in Brooklyn Center and booked into the Hennepin County Jail.
