ANOKA, Minn. (WCCO) – A 66-year-old woman from Hudson, Wis., died Tuesday afternoon after her sedan collided with a 17-year-old girl’s SUV at the intersection of 38th Avenue and Bunker Lake Boulevard, police say.
The Anoka Police Department said witnesses saw the 66-year-old was traveling east on Bunker Lake Boulevard before 3 p.m., and tried to make a U-turn near 38th Avenue. Her vehicle traveled directly into the path of the 17-year-old’s SUV.
The woman was dead at the scene, authorities say, and the teenager, and her passenger, were taken to Mercy Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say this is the second traffic fatality in two days in Anoka.
The crash continues to be investigated by the Anoka Police Department, the Minnesota State Patrol, and the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office.
