MARTY, S.D. (AP) — Federal authorities are investigating a shooting on the Yankton Indian Reservation in southeast South Dakota that left one person dead and another person injured.

FBI spokesman Kyle Loven says the shooting occurred Monday night at a home in Marty, a town on the Charles Mix County reservation.

U.S. Attorney’s spokesman Mark Salter says one person is in custody in relation to the shooting.

Loven says there is no threat to the public. He has released no other details and says the investigation is ongoing.

The FBI is working with the state Department of Criminal Investigation and the Yankton Sioux Tribe on the case.
