Old Dutch High School Athlete of the Week: Jacob Pavek

OLD DUTCH HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Jacob Pavek
Class – Senior
Sport – Football
High School – Mahnomen

The senior quarterback led the Indians to a narrow 20-14 victory over Bethlehem Academy on Saturday in the Class 1A football state championship game at the Metrodome. Despite playing with a high ankle sprain, Pavek had a hand in all three of Mahnomen’s touchdowns, running for scores of 18 and 1 yard and throwing a 23-yard touchdown pass to Nathan Hanson in the final two minutes of the game to seal the Indians’ seventh state football title. Jacob has a grade-point average of 3.9 GPA, is also on the basketball and golf teams, FFA, Honor Band, solo music ensembles, group music ensembles, volunteers as a basketball coach for elementary students and delivers Meals on Wheels to the elderly in the community.

Congratulations to Jacob for being this weeks Old Dutch High School Athlete of the week and for being state  champions!
