ELBOW LAKE, Wis. (WCCO) – A 58-year-old Dalton, Minn. man died after his pickup truck left the road near Elbow Lake, Wis. Tuesday evening.

The Grant County Sheriff’s Office said the man, whose identity hasn’t yet been released, was driving on County Road 4 near County Road 20 north of the city when his pickup truck veered off the road and onto a field.

The truck then hit a drainage ditch. Authorities found the man dead.

It was not immediately clear whether the man died because of the crash or because of a prior medical event. All indications are that he did not attempt to stop the vehicle from veering off the road.

The sheriff’s office continues to investigate the incident. The Minnesota State Patrol were also assisting in the response.
