ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Tardy taxpayers won’t see their Minnesota late fees rise in 2013.
The Department of Revenue says that the interest rate on delinquent taxes will remain at 3 percent next year. It’s been that rate since 2010.
The interest owed is calculated from the time the tax was due until it is paid in full.
By the same token, the state must pay a 3 percent rate if it is too slow in getting refunds out.
