Minn. St., Mankato Shuts Out Bemidji St. 3-0

MANKATO, Minn. (AP) — Minnesota State-Mankato goalie Stephon Williams made 20 saves as the Mavericks defeated Bemidji State 3-0 Friday in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association.

Williams benefitted from MSUM's 40-20 shots-on-goal advantage. He faced only three shots in the third period. Bemidji State (3-6-2, 2-5-2) remains winless at 0-4-2.

Dylan Margonari gave the Mavericks (6-5-2, 4-5-0) a 1-0 lead just more than four minutes into the game. MSUM took 17 shots on goal in the period.

Zach Lehrke scored in the second period and Bryce Gervais in the third. Lehrke added an assist and Matt Leitner assisted on two goals.

Mathieu Dugas turned away 37 shots for the Beavers. He kept the Mavericks scoreless on five power-play chances.
