MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Charges have been filed against the suspect in an officer-involved shooting Wednesday night in south Minneapolis.
David Tsehai Embaye, 22, was charged with three counts of first-degree assault and one count of prohibited person in possession of a firearm.
The charges stem from a chase in which officers followed the car Embaye was in, before Embaye fled the car on foot, and then fired shots on officers.
Embaye ended up getting shot by police, and remains under guard at Hennepin County Medical Center as he is still undergoing treatment.
His prohibited person status is the result of a 2009 conviction for first-degree aggravated robbery.
