ST. CLOUD, Minn. (WCCO) – Authorities are investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed by a taxi cab in St. Cloud over the weekend.
A 33-year-old man was struck on the 10 block of 5th Avenue South early Sunday. He was crossing the street when the taxi cab struck him.
The pedestrian struck his head on the road after falling backwards, and was taken to the emergency room with significant head trauma. He died later that afternoon.
The victim was identified as Timothy Martin.
The taxi cab driver is not facing criminal charges at this time, according to St. Cloud Police.
The State Patrol is assisting in the investigation.
