WHITE BEAR LAKE, Minn. (WCCO) — Students at White Bear Lake Area High School got a hands-on lesson in their ‘Earth-Space Science’ class Thursday.

For months, the students have been assembling an instrument package to attach to a weather balloon.

Thursday was launch day and Meteorologist Lauren Casey was there to see the balloon and the students’ spirits take flight.
