MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – It’s Thursday, which means another hectic week is winding down and it’s time to find something to look forward to for the weekend.
If you’re looking for some entertainment options, there are plenty in the metro this weekend.
University of Minnesota Lights Show
Friday, the University of Minnesota Collge of Science and Engineering will put their skills on display in a dazzling light show. “Illumination” features more than 100,000 lights set to music composed and performed by U of M students for a 3-D outdoor experience.
Shows are at 5:30, 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. at the Civil Engineering Building Plaza. Each lasts about 20 minutes, and shows will continue through Friday, Dec. 21.
I AM MPLS
Now in its third year, I AM MPLS is a celebration of arts and entertainment in the city. It’s a variety show featuring comedy, music, fashion and art.
“I’m Sarah Edwards and I created I Am MPLS because I’m really passionate about our city and all the people who contribute to making it a really awesome place to live.”
The show is Thursday Night at the Varsity Theater. Tickets start at $15.
Santa Claus Goes Bowling At Pinstripes
And Santa Claus is coming to the bowling alley. Whether you’ve been naughty or nice, bring in the whole family to Pinstripes in Edina for brunch, bowling and a visit with Santa.
Brunch is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday. Cost is $20 for adults; $12 for kids 6-12; and free for kids 5 and under.
